Late Advocate Mohd Osman Shaheed was a respected legal expert, author, columnist, orator, and social reformer from Hyderabad, India. Admired for his intellect and dedication, he was often described as “a galaxy within himself,” reflecting the depth and diversity of his contributions.
He authored several books in Urdu and English, including Shamsheer-o-Sanan, Teer-o-Tufang, Sang-o-Khisht, and Qanooni Mashware (Legal Advice), covering topics related to law, politics, literature, and society. As a regular columnist for the Urdu daily Siasat, he used his platform to educate the public on important legal and social issues.
His appearances on Siasat TV’s program “Qanoon Ki Awaaz” made complex legal matters understandable to a general audience. As Additional Public Prosecutor in the Andhra Pradesh High Court, and a member of various legal committees, his career was marked by a commitment to justice and public service.
He passed away on 22 December 2024 at the age of 77. His funeral was held at Masjid Shahida, Kings Colony, Hyderabad, and he was buried at Manawaruddaula graveyard near the Dargah of Hazrat Burhan Shah.
His legacy endures through his writings, public service, and the many lives he touched with his legal and literary guidance.
